My handsome men.
The woman who brought us here--together.
Inside that silly exterior is a heart of gold. As a present, he received a pillow case that you color with a picture of a boy being baptized. That night he went to bed and colored it. When I went in to check on him later, he was sound asleep and had written a word bubble above the boy that read: "I em happe". Spelling is not his strong suit. But sincerity is.
Celebration lunch.
My sweet friend Becca meeting Mattie for the first time. Becca met us just before we started the adoption process. She wanted someone to give us a baby almost as much as we did. Since then, her family has been our family and our family, hers. This was a heartfelt moment for me to witness.
We love Grandma and Papa McLaws.
Growing up, my parents let us choose the restaurant we wanted to eat at after our baptism. Sam wanted orange chicken and cheesecake, so we went to the Cheesecake Factory. The wait time was so ridiculous, I was about to bite someone's head off. I don't do well when I'm hangry.
There have been many little miracles throughout our adoptions that add further proof of what was meant to be. Some cannot be expressed. Others are down-right, well, miraculous. But things like this just blow my mind. We love LOVE love our birth families. What we never expected was that we would be pretty much soul mates. As you can see, we get along...really well.
What a lucky boy!
