Three. And That's a Magic Number

Our little man turned three today. Well, technically he turns three on Monday, but we celebrated a day early (Chad is working very late tomorrow). The day started out a little rushed with 8am church (yes, that's 8am church), but after we got home it was all party all the time.

Pre-party nap with daddy.

The token "opening of presents" shot. This was The Island of Sodor (Thomas) Rescue Station that I got at Target. Regularly $25. I got it for a whopping $5 on clearance. Next to the Temple and Disneyland, I would have to say Target is one of the happiest places on earth. Weeee!

Sam's bicycle. He wasn't too sure what the helmet was for at first. It was quickly tossed aside for the next present. When the weather gets warmer, we anticipate many fun afternoons on the bike paths in our neighborhood.

Cake presentation. Sam wanted a chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake with Thomas on it. When we told him he could have that AND chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner his response was, "You're jokin' me". It being fast sunday, we ate our fill of chicken nuggets.

The battery on my camera was getting low so it took FOREVER to snap a picture. This is all I got. The cake has an Island of Sodor theme and the train is Diesel. Sam has been begging for Diesel forever (for those of you who don't know, Diesel is the most mischievous and misbehaved engine of the Thomas and Friends crew... figures).

HAPPY birthday Sam!!

Seems that your Sam and my Sam have more than just their names in common!! Sam wants a "Thomas present and a Thomas bed and a Thomas toy" for his upcoming birthday. He had a Thomas party last year when he turned 3 too, so it seems this train obsession sticks around for a while...

Give Sam & Noelle hugs from all of us!

Happy birthday, dude! Sweet deal on the Thomas toy. Target is definitely THE place! It has brightened many of my days. In fact, I remember running into you there in the dollar spot (love the dollar spot--especially all the pixar paraphernalia they've had lately). That's when I got the news of the possibility of a second baby joining your family. And now look at that Noel! So cute and a whole year old! Also, I love the way she eats brownies.

Great day! Happy birthday Sam! I love the cake and the bike. What did you get from grandma? Three is a magic number. Now I have that song stuck in my head.
