This is a venting post. As many mommies know, nap time and/or quiet time is a precious commodity. For me, it's my time to get things done. The past two days that has included cleaning and organizing the laundry room (yes, adoptive moms do nest, add the fact that I'm a massive clean freak anyway, and you get anal retentiveness at its craziest). I figured, the laundry room is small. Start small and work my way to the bigger rooms, right? Yesterday, I cleaned, vacuumed, moped and toothbrushed my way through the laundry room. I also removed these nails/hooks that were on the walls when we moved in--they were part of a shelving unit. We still had all the pieces to the shelf, so I thought I would just move the shelf were I wanted it (on the adjacent wall). Yesterday I discovered the hook/nails were anchored in (you know, once you hammer the nail in, the anchor fans out to really sink that hook in). The result, 4 giant, cavernous holes in my wall and one ripped an entire section of drywall with it. No problem, I thought, that's what spackle and paint is for. Today I carefully measured and began hammering in the anchors and nails on the wall where I wanted the shelf. I'm sure you can see where this is going. First nail and anchor--perfect. Second, third and forth--not perfect. They would NOT anchor. Which means, four more giant, cavernous holes in my walls as well as another big chunk of drywall (the nail that actually anchored). I DO NOT like a job half done. I have to putty twice because the holes are so deep and they need time to dry, I can't run to Lowe's and get the texture or shelves I need because our car is in the shop, and worst of all, I wasted a whole afternoon of precious time and just created MORE work for myself. I want to cry.

I'm having similar troubles with my nesting projects. I want to cry, too. Believe me, I feel your pain.
I'm thinking of spring cleaning, but after reading that, I think I'll wait. Hope the holes filled in for you.
I'm too tired to think of anything clever or witty, so this will have to suffice: mopped and moped are sometimes interchangeable. And that sucks.
And Derek wonders why I have like 3 things I have not hung on the wall- paranoid about making holes in the wall. :)
Man.. I feel your pain.. I did that when we moved to the house in Gresham, until kent saw what I did.. and fixed it.. Now Iam not aloud to nail anything in the walls.. lol..
Oh gosh.. that would be frustrating! And sometimes the husband is not all that pleased either... which for me, makes it worse. ;)
