Family Not Home Evening

For FHE a couple weeks ago we had a picnic at the River. Other than the PWT loitering about (ie: naked 10 year-olds running loose, hordes of drunken cowboy wannabes with their beer, and the nasty, smoker couple with their limbs and lips all over each other), we had a fantastic time. Sam enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and Noelle enjoyed the feel of sand between her toes.

Oh, What fun!! It is so fun to watch a baby's first experience with sand...cute hat, but even cuter baby.

Sam is getting is so big! Chad plays the role of protective Daddy very well.

She is so cute, I know I have probably said if before.
But, I never noticed her little dimple in her chin.
I love it.

Sam is Scottish?! How cool! In answer to your question, here is the breakdown:

My husband's family, haling from Arizona are of Scottish decent. Their ancestors include the protagonist King Duncan from Macbeth.

His father joined the military and spent a majority to his career in international law operating in Germany.

While growing up in Europe they spent a lot of time traveling and acquired their traditional clan kilts. If you look closely, most of them hadn't grown completely yet so their kilts are a little snug and a bit short. This has never stopped them from sucking in their tummies to fit into them for their weddings, baby blessings, funerals and other family functions. It is so cool. I love it when they where them.

The clan motto is 'learn to suffer'....something I am determined to change to 'scatter sunshine' or something. Although I don't think thousands of burly Scottish Duncan men would want to change it.
