In early January we flew to visit Sam's birth family. They are a sweet and wonderful family and made us feel like part of their family. Everyone was so good to us and treated Sam like royalty. We feel extremely lucky and grateful to know such a special family and to know Sam is a part of them. We love them with all our hearts for the sacrifice they made, the support they gave to Sam's birth mother, and for the immeasurable joy the gave to us when they entrusted to us one of their precious sons.1.16.2008

When did you all make that trip? And how long were you able to stay?
You have no idea who I am obviously (I'm Mattie's cousin :)), but that picture made me cry! I love checking in on your blog just to see how darling Sam is and how happy you two are with him. Keep up the good work!
You guys look like you belong in that bunch. So cool that you guys stay in such close contact. I read that adoption article in the Ensign today (couldn't help but cry). It must make the decision for the birth mom to put her baby up for adoption easier when she knows that she won't be cut off from her baby forever. What a special bond that you all have.
Hi Amber, It was so great to meet youat my sister's house. That picture is so great. You guys are truely a happy family. You guys are such a great example to me and my husband. I hope you new baby will be as sweet as Sam. We are just waiting for our little boy to come now too. As you know it is the waiting game. Good Luck.
